Career Planning Services is your one-stop shop!

Whether you are looking for work to enhance your skills or to pay your college expenses, SDSU’s Career Planning Services provides an arsenal of materials, references and information. We also offer a host of resources that can help you explore career options, locate potential employers, prepare your resume, and even find an internship.

Current students and SDSU graduates have access to Campanile Connections, an online career services management system. Some of the things you’ll be able to take advantage of—once you’re a student at SDSU—include:

• finding internship, summer, and volunteer positions in South Dakota and nationwide
• posting resumes
• searching for job openings
• signing up to receive email notices about jobs that meet your criteria
• scheduling on-campus interviews
  

What else is available at Career Planning Services?
Held early each Fall, the Part-time Job Fair is designed for students looking for local, student-friendly part-time job opportunities. You can distribute resumes, fill out applications, and interview with many employers all in one afternoon.

Individual Career Planning: Trying to figure out what to do with your major or which major is right for you? Work through our career planning triangle online or meet with one of our staff to determine how your unique qualities fit into the work world and explore the academic programs that can get you there.

Full-Time Job Search: Need some help finding a job? Visit our online Campanile Connections system to look for openings and check out the “how-to” guides for specific job seeking activities. You may also want to meet with a consultant for an individual resume review or interviewing practice session.

Internships: Want some experience in your field before you graduate? Check out the national internship information online and visit with our internship coordinator to learn more about making your experience count.

Graduate/Professional School: Planning to continue your education? We have many resources to prepare for graduate school applications and professional school interviews. Check out the how-to guides or meet with a professional to discuss the process for your specific professional area.

The South Dakota Department of Labor is located in the lower level of Medary Commons. Click here to visit their web site, which links you directly to the South Dakota Department of Labor. The web site lists positions from Brookings employers, as well as SDSU work-study opportunities. This office is open from 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. during the academic year and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. during summer and school breaks. You can also visit their main office at 1310 Main Avenue, Brookings.
