Dr. Keith L. Knutson, the Andrew A. and Mary S. Sugg Professor of Cancer Research and Professor of Immunology from Mayo Clinic Florida will be delivering the 2024 Francis Miller Public Lecture "Three Ways to Combat Cancer with Vaccines” at 7pm, April 8th, in the University Student Union (Herold Crest Room 253C). The lecture is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions.

Dr. Knutson is internationally recognized in the field of cancer immunology. His contributions to science include clinical development and testing of tumor antigen-specific vaccines in patients with breast and ovarian cancers. He currently has 6 FDA-approved vaccine trials underway and is principal investigator of 3 Department of Defense (DOD) grants and 3 NIH grant to test vaccines for breast and ovarian cancer, including triple negative breast cancer for which there are no targeted therapies.

A separate scientific lecture entitled "Cancer Vaccines: Revitalizing an Old Concept in a New Era of Medicine” is scheduled at 2pm, April 9th, in Avera Science and Health Center (SAV 043).
