Nursing student completes ROTC internship in Germany

One student’s involvement in two demanding programs at South Dakota State University took him to another continent for the internship opportunity of a lifetime. Luke Morris, a Harrisburg native who graduated May 4 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, completed a month-long Army internship last summer at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. The training was a good fit for someone who wants to become an emergency room Army nurse.

Lee Weidauer, associate professor in South Dakota State University's School of Health and Consumer Sciences, has received a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture to develop an exercise and nutrition program to reduce the risk of sarcopenia.

Conference to focus on empowering South Dakota’s innovation network

Leaders from industry, academia and government are being invited to a one-day conference June 11 in Sioux Falls focusing on expanding the computer chip manufacturing workforce in the United States and enhancing existing South Dakota’s innovation systems.
