Jerome J. Lohr Building (SDSU Foundation)

Jerome J. Lohr Building

Located on the northwest corner of Medary Avenue and Eighth Street, the three-level brick building is the headquarters of the SDSU Foundation.

Building Description

Built with private funds through the SDSU Foundation, the 18,000-square foot facility was completed in fall 2004 at a cost of $2.3 million and dedicated Nov. 5. The foundation initially was housed in Tompkins Alumni Center. In 1989, the foundation purchased the Bunny Car Wash, 920 Ninth St. (south across the street from Tompkins). Due to staff growth, a second building was needed. The development staff moved to 823 Medary Ave., and the operations staff expanded within the Ninth Street building. The Medary site was originally the location of the Campus Café. It housed a number of businesses before the property was purchased by the foundation in 1995.
