McCrory Gardens Education & Visitor Center

McCrory Gardens Education and Visitor Center was built in 2012.

Building Description

A privately funded $4.2-million facility, the center became the focal point of the gardens when it opened. It is located on the southeast section of the gardens with access off of 22nd Avenue. With 9,350 square feet, the center features a help desk, gift shop and coffee shop. Two rooms have a capacity to seat 30 people, and a larger room has enough space to accommodate 300 with auditorium-style seating or about 180 when set up for dining. The center houses an extensive historical background on the 25-acre gardens and 45-acre arboretum that grew from a vision of SDSU professor S.A. McCrory in the early 1960s.
