Forster named S.D. High School Journalist of the Year
Recent Lincoln High School graduate Emma Forster of Sioux Falls has been named the 2023 South Dakota High School Journalist of the Year.
SDSU alumnus selected as Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow
Jacob Boyko, a 2023 graduate from the South Dakota State University School of Communication and Journalism, has been selected as a Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow. Boyko joins a cohort of 44 fellows and adds to the exclusive list of SDSU students selected for this competitive fellowship.
Broadcasting history documentaries to air on SDPB
Films produced by South Dakota State University associate professor Rocky Dailey, including two documentaries featuring notable figures in South Dakota broadcasting history, will air on South Dakota Public Broadcasting in June.

Jacks News is housed within SDSU's School of Communication and Journalism (COJO). As part of the Broadcast News Reporting class, students gain critical skills and experience needed in the industry.

The annual South Dakota State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 25 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.
Simon’s art a testimony to braving the storm
Dr. Lynn Sargeant has been working on updating the art in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences office. Located on her back wall are two new pieces of art, creating an eye-catching backdrop to the many Zoom meetings she holds and an opportunity to highlight the work of students in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. These pieces of art were created by Alison Simon, a fifth-year senior in the School of Design, the School of Communication and Journalism and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
