fitCare Program

The South Dakota Department of Health in collaboration with the South Dakota Department of Social Services support the fitCare training and technical assistance for regional child care providers. The fitCare grant offers free training and supports to understand what influences our choices to be fitThe program is grounded on four pillars essential to building awareness of healthy lifestyle choices, guiding decision making, and improving self-management skills.

After completing either the Ready, Set, Move! or We Are What We Eat! class, you can work with the Child and Family Resource Network Training Specialist on goals for your child care program. Your efforts on improving your child care program's physical activity and nutritional offerings can award you annual training credits.
