Swipe Out Hunger

Swipe Out Hunger at South Dakota State University is a food assistance program for students experiencing food insecurity.

Spring 2024

Swipe Out Hunger for the spring 2024 semester is currently open to all students experiencing food insecurity. The program will last till the last week of the spring semester.

How to Donate

  1. SDSU students who would like to donate meal blocks from their meal plans to the Swipe out Hunger program can do so at the Card Services Office in the University Student Union.
  2. Donated meal blocks are placed in a Swipe out Hunger meal block "bank'.

How to Apply

  1. Students experiencing food insecurity can request meal blocks by submitting a meal block request application.
  2. Applications are reviewed by SDSU's Swipe out Hunger team. Upon approval meal blocks are added onto the student's campus ID and the student is notified via email.
  3. Students who receive Swipe Out Hunger meal blocks can use these blocks at Larson Commons before the end of the current semester.
